کتاب گمشده

اثر اندی اندروز از انتشارات نشر نون - مترجم: فیروزه مهرزاد-داستان تاریخی

Dorry Chandler is a journalist who has always had a taste for mysteries. Curious about the strange “rock” her son has found, she takes it to Dylan Langford, an expert on antiquities who works at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. When the language inscribed on the artifact is translated, a far-reaching mystery begins to unravel. This normal family’s life becomes anything but normal as each piece of evidence sheds additional light on the object’s significance. What power resides in this seemingly unimportant piece of bronze? Who passed its secrets on through the centuries? And why has the object appeared now, in this way, in this time and place?

Fantastic book. Compelling read. A story well woven that will keep you thinking and asking questions of your own life and choices.

I was between and 3 and 4 on rating this. Andrews is a compelling storyteller - so that won out. And he creates some great characters (even if they are a bit too perfect!). The theme (and subsequent questions the reader is forced to ask) is also wonderful, but the overuse of famous people - how he intertwines them - is over the top.

You must build your character daily...and immediately. All blossoms of tomorrow, and all weeds as well, are in the seeds you are sowing today. Your influence, your wealth, and ultimately your legacy will be decided by this one thing. For ultimately, no person can ever rise beyond the restrictions of his own [email protected]

@I have learned that success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles he has overcome while choosing to succeed. Out of the hard and unusual struggle through which one is compelled to pass, he gets a strength and confidence that another might miss whose pathway is comparatively [email protected] (Booker T.
